What happens when you roll dice against a target figure?
In some cases, a roll lower than the target is deemed a failure. In other systems a roll higher is the failure, while a low roll indicates success. Much emphasis is placed on the target figure and the difficulty of the action. But given the nature of fail or succeed, there can be only two outcomes from rolling the dice.
Key-20, the new in-house roleplaying ruleset from Forever People Digital Press, introduces a sliding scale of success or failure which brings the dice roll and the action to life. Now success or failure are no longer absolutes, but measurable and variable. Just like in real life!
