Well, I just saw the announcement on RPGNow regarding the Ennies and they've eliminated the central distribution option. Now, every entrant must ship five separate copies to five separate judges. That means it would likely cost me in excess of $250 to take part, in combined stock value and shipping. That puts me out of the running straight away, which to be honest I find rather off-putting in a day and age when it is extremely easy to throw digital copies of such documents around the Internet.
